Christmas Star Wreath (Original Watercolour)

This wreath came together the way many holiday memories do—piece by piece. While painting, I started thinking about all the little things that make Christmas feel special. The scent of oranges, the glow of a small house lit from within, the tiny surprises we notice only when we slow down.

Instead of creating a traditional wreath, I gathered those moments into one place. A pear for the sweetness of the season, evergreens for comfort, a beetle and moths for the  wonders of the natural world, berries for colour, and a small star at the centre to hold it all together.

It’s a wreath made the way we build the holidays- by collecting bits of joy from everywhere and letting them sit together in harmony. Something familiar, something unexpected, and something that reminds us of how magical the little things can be.
